Species Details
TWO systems: (1) OTC general permits — general archery (unlimited quota) AND general rifle/muzzleloader (capped ~15,000 total, first-come-first-served starting July 7–9, 2026). NR OTC ~$849 (includes fishing license, fee doubled by SB8 in Sept 2025). (2) Limited-entry draw tags via weighted preference points for premium units ($1,950 NR, apply Mar 19–Apr 23). Start with OTC general season while banking points for premium limited-entry units. Verify at wildlife.utah.gov.
Trophy potential is exceptional but NR quota is tiny. NR tag ~$599. 10–15+ year commitment for best units. Apply Mar 19–Apr 23 at wildlife.utah.gov.
Shiras moose with good trophy quality. Weighted system helps long-term applicants.
Henry Mountains and Antelope Island herds. Very few tags. Bucket list hunt. NR tag ~$2,250. Apply Mar 19–Apr 23 at wildlife.utah.gov. Verify current fees.
